Overview
I’m a Technical Writer on a personal mission to make complex technology accessible to everyone. Currently transitioning from Product Support to full-time technical writing, I bring a unique perspective shaped by my background in compliance and user support.
Background & Transition
My career began in affordable housing compliance, where I spent over a decade creating clear policies and training materials. Working in a regulation-heavy industry taught me the importance of precise, user-focused documentation. Users need to understand your product in order to adopt it effectively.
As a former Director of Compliance, I led documentation initiatives that resulted in a 34% decrease in compliance violation findings. When employees have better communication, they’re more successful at following policies.
Previously, I spent eleven years as a Senior Compliance Manager, where I developed comprehensive training materials for real estate software applications. I managed multiple writing assignments, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policy guides, and communication with agencies, vendors, and residents—all while meeting tight deadlines.
In 2023, I joined a leading real estate software company as a Technical Support Specialist. There, I analyzed user behavior and the challenges users face with technology. This experience deepened my commitment to creating clear, empowering documentation that helps users solve problems independently. It also sparked a growing interest in quality assurance within documentation—focusing on accuracy, usability testing, and maintaining high standards for all user-facing content.
